The weather in Carlsbad this weekend is expected to be in the mid-60s and partially cloudy. In other words, perfect weather for golfing.
Carlsbad High School and the Riverside Country Club will host a string golf tournament on Saturday. Teams will be able to purchase up to 50-feet of string during their time on the links.
The string is used as a sort of reverse mulligan. If a ball lands 10-feet from the hole, rather than risk missing a putt a golfer can sacrifice those 10-feet of string and head to the next hole.
The tournament is open to 22 total teams made of four people each team. The cost is $75 a person or $300 for the team. The fees include a cart and green fee and lunch. This will be a shotgun start tournament, with all teams starting off at different holes, beginning at 9 a.m.
