Carlsbad, Loving and Artesia high schools will be able to give their basketball programs one final home game with fans in attendance Friday night after the State’s new COVID-19 criteria was announced Wednesday.
Eddy County temporarily was moved back to Yellow on April 22 but with more than 40 percent of all New Mexicans vaccinated, and more than 35 percent from Eddy County receiving at least one shot, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham unveiled a new framework complete with a new color-coded map that goes into effect April 30.

All three high school boys basketball games will be played in Eddy County while the girls games are on the road. Carlsbad hosts Hobbs, Artesia hosts Goddard and Loving hosts Eunice. Hobbs and Eunice, located in Lea County, are classified as Turquoise and will allow fans. Goddard in Chaves County will still be Yellow and will not allow fans for the Lady Rockets vs. Lady Bulldogs game.
All games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
