
Two people were injured after a three-vehicle accident Wednesday morning at a truck stop south of Carlsbad, Carlsbad police said.
Carlsbad Assistant Police Chief Jaime Balencia said police and emergency crews responded to the Pilot Travel Center at 3202 South Canal Street around 5:48 a.m.
Officials said a vehicle crashed into two parked vehicles at the truck stop.
He said one person was transported by air for advanced medical treatment,

Carlsbad Fire Chief Richard Lopez said firefighters took precautions to prevent a fire from igniting as the vehicles were disabled and gas pumps were shut off.
Balencia said the crash remained under investigation as of late Wednesday afternoon and traffic was rerouted for nearly five hours Wednesday morning.
